Religious Education for Adults - 2009

Adult RE: Spirit of Life: Exploring Spirituality for Unitarian Universalists will be
offered on successive Thursdays from March 4 through May 6 from 7-9pm. The program, part of the Tapestry of Faith series, will be facilitated by Brock Leach and Bill Blymiller and other members of the Adult Religious Education Committee.
It focuses on the topics of Faith Development, Spiritual Development, Ethical Development, and Unitarian Universalist Identity. There is a sign up sheet on the Bulletin Board in the hallway. There
is not a limit on the number of attendees and there may be a (waiveable) small fee for copying charges. Contact Bill Blymiller (bill@blymiller.com or 813-988-6551) with specific questions.
West Central Cluster UU Workshop: Making Ethical Decisions On Saturday, March 27 10am-2:30pm, UUCT will host a workshop featuring Robert P. Tucker, Ph.D., Minister Emeritus of the UU Congregation of Lakeland and former professor of Religion, Philosophy, Logic and Ethics.
He will address issues such as:
- Do Ethics and Morality differ?
- How should we go about making ethical decisions?
- How do ethical theories fit into practical applications?
- What role, if any, should religion play?
Drinks and lunch are provided. Registration fee is $20 payable at the

Adult RE: Pathway to Membership Class: Building Your Own Theology Interested
in joining The Unitarian Universalist Church of Tampa? Curious about Unitarian Universalism? Come find out what it’s all about in this Pathway to Membership Class. Building Your Own Theology is a free class for new members, prospective new members, people who are curious about
Unitarian Universalism, and/or current members. This class explores the history of Unitarianism and Universalism. But its main focus is on each
person’s discernment of his or her religion, faith, and spirituality as it has evolved. This class will meet on four consecutive Tuesdays, April 20th and 27th, and May 4th and 11th

Yoga, Yoga!! Chair Yoga with Grant Wilson on Saturday, March 20 from 10-11:30am. This 90 minute session will help you
relax, strengthen and stretch tired muscles, and invigorate your senses. It's all done from a chair, so there is no need to be able to get down and up from the floor. Grant has been teaching Yoga for many years and has volunteered to do this chair Yoga class as a UUCT fundraiser. Cost is just $10 and
there are plenty of spaces available -- All are welcome! Come join us for a comfortable and energizing Yoga experience! Contact the church office with questions (813-988-8188).
Zen Loving Kindness Meditation : Tuesdays, 5:30 - 6:30 pm
This group is now doing zazen, kinhin, and chanting during this hour of meditation. Rev. Sara Zimmermin is approved as a lay Zen teacher. Zezen is quiet sitting; kinhin is a walking meditation. Ages 8 and older are welcome.
